The media executive and producer will lead strategic partnerships for TIME Africa as the brand expands its presence across the continent and globally.
Global Venture Partners (GVP) has appointed media executive and producer Peace Hyde as Director of Global Strategic Partnerships for TIME Africa, as the brand looks to deepen its relationships with institutions, businesses and cultural leaders across Africa and internationally.
In the newly created role, Hyde will lead the development of strategic partnerships for TIME Africa, with a focus on building long-term collaborations and developing new opportunities around the brand’s editorial, events and original intellectual property.
Hyde brings more than a decade of experience spanning media, partnerships and entertainment across Africa. She previously served as Head of Digital Media and Partnerships and West Africa Correspondent at Forbes Africa, where her work included developing partnerships and creating original programming for the brand.
During her tenure, Hyde created and produced Forbes Africa My Worst Day and Forbes Woman Africa Against All Odds, two interview series featuring some of the continent’s leading business and public figures. She was also involved in the award-winning VICE News documentary Inside Nigeria’s Push to End Police Brutality.
Her work has increasingly extended beyond publishing and into global entertainment. In 2021, Hyde created and executive produced Young, Famous & African, Netflix’s first African unscripted original series. The reality series, which follows a group of prominent African personalities, has since reached Netflix’s Top 10 rankings across dozens of countries and received multiple international awards, including recognition at the South African Film and Television Awards.
The appointment comes as TIME Africa continues to expand its footprint across the continent, developing a platform that brings together journalism, convening and partnerships around some of Africa’s most consequential people, ideas and issues.
“It is an honour to join such a prestigious brand as TIME Africa, as well as the other global brands under the GVP umbrella,” Hyde said. “Having spent many years working with some of the world’s most prestigious media brands, the scale, stability and ambition of GVP really resonates with me.”
“I see a real opportunity for the TIME Africa brand to grow not only through existing tentpole events, but also by diversifying into new original IP that resonates with the African continent.”
For GVP, which operates a portfolio of international media brands across Africa and the Middle East, Hyde’s appointment is part of a broader effort to build partnerships that extend beyond traditional media relationships and connect publishing, culture, business and investment.
As Director of Global Strategic Partnerships, Hyde will work across TIME Africa’s growing network of partners and initiatives while identifying new opportunities for the brand to convene influential voices from Africa and the wider global community.
